Clara's First Birthday
/One whole year has passed since this sweet little answer to our (million) prayers entered the world! Never would I have imagined that we would be spending this day quarantined in our house, under a stay at home order, because of a virus. CRAZY! Yet, that is exactly what we did. While my Mama heart was, of course, sad we couldn’t throw a big first birthday bash as I had originally planned, I knew I still wanted to make the day extra special and just have a little party of our own!
Just like I’m sure every Mama does, I had set up a Pinterest board for Clara’s first birthday about six months ago, hahaha! I blame the planner in me. But this definitely helped with being able to throw our little celebration together pretty quickly! I knew I wanted it to be a subtle bunny theme, with neutral blush pink and peach toned accents.
If you’ve followed our story then you know that peach will always be Savannah’s color! It was going to be the accent color in her nursery, and peach sunsets are always reminders of her as well. As for the bunnies, those are for Ellis! While pregnant with her there were bunnies everywhere, and they always seemed to be like ‘God winks’ after we lost her. I thought it would be incredibly special to honor them both by combining pieces of each of their stories into one birthday party for our rainbow baby girl!
I will do my best to link what I can at the end of the post, but a lot of this was just stuff I’ve had around the house or things I made myself!

This day may not have looked exactly as I had pre-planned on Pinterest, but it was filled with so much love, a lot of laughs (& tears), and will definitely be a day I know I’ll remember forever.
Happy FIRST Birthday Clara Jayne!
